Admissions Criteria

OSSMA admits students aged 11-16 with a pupil admission number (PAN) of 240 per year. Applications are welcome at any time, but entry to Year 7 is encouraged at the start of the year. If applying through the Local Authority in the standard round, do so by the end of October. Priorities for admission (in order): looked-after children; children who have siblings at the academy; children of an existing member of staff; children who live nearest to the school (straight-line distance). If a child has an Education or Health Care Plan they are not part of the normal round, but count towards PAN. In-year admissions are possible by contacting the academy for an In-Year Admission form. Tours and personal academies visits are available on request.
