Admissions Criteria

Sixth Form admissions are for students currently in Year 11 at the Academy (internal) and external applicants who meet the academic entry criteria; entry requirements are published on the Academy website; the agreed minimum external admission number is 20 for entry in September 2023, with an anticipated Sixth Form capacity of 260 in September 2023. The entry requirements for admission to Sixth Form shall be the same for internal and external applicants. Oversubscription criteria prioritise Looked After Children who meet the academic requirements, followed by children with exceptional medical or social reasons, then students with siblings at the Academy who meet the academic requirements, and then all other applicants who meet the academic requirements with distance from the Academy used as a tie-breaker (straight-line distance). If courses are full, places may be offered on alternative course options. A waiting list is held in order of the above criteria. Late applications are considered after the allocation of places, subject to places available and academic requirements. Accepting or declining offers requires returning the form within two weeks of the offer letter.
