Welcome to Granta School. We are a community special school for ages 3–19 with Education, Health and Care Plans. We support a range of needs including moderate to profound learning disabilities and Autism Spectrum Conditions. Our staff are caring and work closely with families to enable independence and life skills. Headteacher: Sarah Crouch.
The Hive is an offsite provision education base for our 16-19 year old, formal pathway students (Darwin class).
Admission requires an EHCP that includes a learning disability; Granta is appropriate when special school education can best meet the pupil’s needs; there must be appropriate resources and funding for highly complex medical or behavioural needs; the pupil must want to attend Granta and the parents must agree with the school’s values and policies; a place must be available with sufficient space and human resources; the placement is generally the nearest appropriate option to the home.
