Head Teacher's Message

The Headteacher, Ruth Sharp, writes about the school''s pride in its inclusive culture, high expectations, a safe and caring environment, strong partnerships with parents, and the aim for pupils to achieve academically and develop holistically.

Curriculum Highlights

National Curriculum programmes of study are followed and linked through cross-curricular units with quality core texts at the heart of the curriculum. Curriculum subjects are organised into three teams: Cultural, Expressive and Technology. Class trips are organised to provide first-hand experiences and to utilise London''s historical and cultural opportunities. Art, music and drama are promoted through lessons and after-school clubs. Curriculum resources include core texts and structured mapping across year groups.

SEND Provision

Rye Oak provides support for pupils with special educational needs through a Resource Base for Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC). The school supports English as an Additional Language with an induction programme for new arrivals, and offers counselling, friendship groups, anger management sessions and bereavement counselling. The SENCOs are Glyn Hawke and Ruth Sharp.
