Head Teacher's Message

A very warm welcome to our school website. St Peter’s is a friendly school on two sites with a peaceful village atmosphere, a strong Christian tradition and ethos, and close links with St Peter’s Church and the Diocese of Birmingham. The school prides itself on a warm, caring environment and a supportive partnership with parents, valuing each child as a unique individual and providing opportunities for academic and personal development. Headteacher: Alison Leonard.

Curriculum Highlights

St. Peter’s school curriculum is stimulating and challenging, knowledge rich and aims to broaden minds, develop natural inquisitiveness, instill joy in discovery and make links between different aspects of learning. The curriculum covers a broad range of subjects reflecting the school’s local context, with a balance in Year 6 between SATs prep and an engaging program of subjects. Trips are linked to the curriculum to give pupils experiences outside of school. The recovery curriculum was put in place from September 2020, and gaps in learning are monitored and addressed. Insight Tracker is used to check progress in every year group, with termly pupil progress meetings and interventions when needed.

Admissions Criteria

Admissions information shown for 2025–2027. For a Reception 2026 place, applicants should visit www.birmingham.gov and apply online; the closing date is 11:59pm on 15 January 2026. All applications should be made online to Admissions. If you have an older child at St Peter's you still need to apply for a place. If you have a child attending the Nursery you still need to apply as attending the Nursery does not guarantee a place. If you have received an offer you do nothing and the school will be in contact. In-year applications are available from the Infant office and can be emailed to [email protected]. All in-year applications need to be renewed at the beginning of every academic year (September). Applications for September 2026 open on 1 October 2025 and close on 15 January 2026. In-year forms are available from the Infant office, School Admissions and the St Peter's website.
