Admissions Criteria

Side by Side provides placements for children aged 2–19. Mainstream nursery placements have priority for looked-after children, children of current staff, siblings of current and previous pupils, and applications by date received. Special needs nursery placements prioritise children with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), along with looked-after children and those with additional needs. For children aged 5–19, most applications require an EHCP. The Headteacher and SENCO meet with parents to assess suitability, and the school collaborates with local authorities to meet needs, subject to funding and capacity. Waiting lists may be established in oversubscribed cases, and appeals should be directed to the Board of Trustees. Full details are in the Admissions Policy. Contact the School Office for an application form.
