Westfield Primary Community School serves Acomb in the West of the City of York. The headteacher, Lamara Taylor, describes a school where the community works in partnership to ensure that children come first. The school aims to deliver a meaningful curriculum, nurture all children and inspire a love of learning, with the staff dedicated to creating a positive learning environment. Admissions Criteria

Nursery admissions: 39 places; morning and afternoon sessions; up to 30 hours of education; universal 15 hours funding the term after a child’s third birthday; possible 30 hours funding if eligible; catchment areas do not apply; children are ranked by age (oldest first) with priority for some children (e.g., a child with a Special Educational Need). Application packs can be requested from the school office; Foundation Stage Admission forms are available from the school. Reception admissions: online applications for September 2025 opened; eligible birth window is 1 September 2021 to 31 August 2022; visits to the school available; deadline for applications is 15 January 2026; apply via the City of York Council website.
