Curriculum Highlights

The broad and balanced curriculum includes National Curriculum subjects plus Arabic language and Islamic Studies. After school and Saturday booster classes are time-tabled for students taking external examinations; an intensive booster programme runs for Year 11 from September to May. KS3 emphasizes core functional skills in English, Mathematics and ICT, with Arabic, Islamic Studies, Religious Education, Art, PE and PSHCE. KS4 includes GCSEs (English Language, English Literature, Maths, Science, ICT, History, Arabic, Religious Studies, etc.) and non-GCSE subjects (Geography, Art, CS & PSHCE); Duke of Edinburgh (Bronze and Silver) Award; WorkSkills, Career Development and Work Experience. Career guidance and enrichment are integrated through Work Experience and related programmes.

Admissions Criteria

Parents must submit an application form for the child with a copy of a valid Birth Certificate and all other information requested by the School. New Children will be admitted from the first Monday of each month; all new admissions are on a probationary period of one School Term, which may be extended. Permanent enrolment is granted at the Management’s discretion. A child may be put on probation at any time during the academic year for unsatisfactory attitude, behaviour, attendance, punctuality, organisation, presentation and lack of cooperation. In the event of unsatisfactory progress, the school has the right to remove the child from roll or refuse admission in the following academic year. Waiting lists are drawn up in strict accordance with the published admission criteria, with priority order including catchment/siblings on roll and distance criteria. Applications in Year 10 are only accepted until the end of Term 1; no new admissions in Year 11; exceptional discretion may allow admission into Year 10 & Year 11.
