Curriculum Highlights

The curriculum at Abbeyfield is broad and knowledge rich, with KS3 following a DSME-based approach to ensure deep understanding across subjects; PSHEE is taught every fortnight to all KS3 and KS4 students; BEAMs is an intervention class to support transition between primary and secondary education; KS4 offers GCSEs in Maths, English, Science and two other traditional subjects with personalised options; Sixth Form offers A Levels and BTECs with Extended Project, Core/Further Maths and substantial independent study; there is a strong focus on SMSC, wellbeing (Thrive Hub), careers education and a wide programme of trips and visitors; the curriculum beyond the classroom includes trips, visitors, a careers programme, in-school performances and tutor-led character education.
