Mastery curriculum with fewer topics studied in greater depth and not moving on until secure understanding Three-year Key Stage 3 provides time and space to gain secure understanding Subject specialism within a United Learning framework; standardised assessments used for progress tracking Retrieval practice and formative assessment to embed learning and build long-term memory Explicit teaching of subject-specific vocabulary (tier 3) and supporting literacy (tier 2) Literacy interventions such as Lexia and Direct Instruction to support reading and writing Knowledge organisers and form-time reading (at least 90 minutes per week) plus oracy development through discussions on topical subjects Ambitious curriculum designed to give students access to powerful knowledge and high expectations across subjects

Sheffield Springs Academy participates in the Local Authority’s Co-ordinated Admission Scheme for in-year admissions.
