Curriculum Highlights

A broad and varied curriculum with academic rigour and creativity (we combine academic rigour with creativity in a broad and varied curriculum). Most classes are around 20 pupils; maximum class size 24; A level groups are smaller to allow more one-to-one work. We don’t have teaching assistants in classrooms and every pupil needs to access the curriculum independently. A wide-ranging co-curricular programme with over 70 clubs/activities per term, including Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme and CCF.

Admissions Criteria

We are a selective school and take a holistic approach to admissions, looking for a well-rounded representation of gender, co-curricular skills and abilities. We look for children who exhibit curiosity, kindness and a strong desire to learn and grow both academically and personally and to contribute to the rich variety of opportunities St John’s has to offer.
