Admissions Criteria

Nursery admissions: admission to Melbury Nursery is the term after a child is three; admission is sorted directly through the school; visits to nursery are welcomed; children should be potty trained before starting nursery unless they have identified special needs; there is a waiting list and attendance above acceptable levels is required to hold a place. Nursery entry criteria follow the LA policy: in catchment with a sibling in school; out of catchment with a sibling in school; in catchment with no sibling; out of catchment with no sibling. Full Time Places (30 hours) are offered only if Government eligibility criteria are met. Admissions to Melbury Primary School (Foundation 2 to Year 6) are through the local Authority and not directly through the school; visits are welcomed.
