SEND Provision

All learners will have access to quality first teaching. Vulnerable learners will have access to carefully adaptive activities or approaches directly related to the school curriculum which are part of our good practice in making teaching and learning accessible to pupils learning at different rates. Teaching assistants receive regular training in all areas by the SENDCo. The SENDCo meets every full time with class teachers to review all SEND children in their class. An Intervention Request is submitted to the SENDCo where next steps are discussed and implemented. A Learning Plan is created and a provision map is used to monitor all interventions, allowing costings and progress to be assessed. Baseline assessments are carried out prior to intervention; Learning Plan targets are reviewed at least termly and further assessments implemented to measure progress, including SEMH progress monitored through Boxall assessments and Rainbow Tracking. Where progress is not sufficient, referrals may be made to outside agencies (e.g., Educational Psychologist, Community Paediatrics). Regular review meetings are held with parents to keep them updated. External Support includes links to Northamptonshire Local Offer.

Admissions Criteria

The school operates an open admission policy; the Governing Body will accept children into Reception without reference to ability or aptitude at the beginning of the academic year in which they reach age five. The published admissions limit is currently 90 children per year group. Places in all year groups are allocated in accordance with the published criteria in the school’s admissions policy.
