Welcome to Delapre Primary School. The headteacher describes a school deep-rooted in care, rich in character and big in heart, where compassion, ambition and excellence shape the lives of the children. Delapre Den Wraparound Care provides Breakfast Club and After School Club. Manager: Mrs J Going. Breakfast Club Assistant: Mrs S Japp. Breakfast and After School Club Assistant: Miss S Robinson. After School Club Assistant: Mrs L Richardson.
Delapre Primary School is inclusive and follows a graduated SEND approach. All pupils follow the National Curriculum at a level appropriate to their abilities. With the permission of parents/carers we may seek outside specialist advice. The school uses an Assess, Plan, Do, Review cycle, produces Individual Learning Plans, and works in partnership with parents/carers and external professionals to meet needs. SENDCo coordinates support and, if required, may seek an Education, Health and Care assessment for an EHCP.
The school’s admission number is 90 pupils per year group in three classes. Decisions on Reception placement are made by the Local Authority using criteria: (1) children who have a brother or sister in the school; (2) the distance from home to the school; (3) other pupils. If oversubscribed under criterion (3), priority is given to those who live further from the nearest alternative school; if oversubscribed under any other criterion, priority is given to those who live closest to the school. There is also information about start procedures, new parents’ evenings, and settling in arrangements.
