Curriculum Highlights

Maths follows the 2014 National Curriculum and aligns with White Rose schemes; time is built into terms to address significant gaps and for consolidation; progression is planned year by year. Reading emphasises phonics in Reception and KS1; strong focus on reading as a life skill; our library and home reading are part of promoting reading. Writing uses an 8-step writing sequence (Immerse, Planning, Draft, Share, Evaluate, Revise, Editing, Publishing) across KS1–KS2, with target setting after each piece. Our curriculum maps across core subject areas (Maths, Reading, Writing, Phonics, RE, Science, History and Geography, Computing, PSHE, Art and Design Technology, MFL, Music, PE) and includes early years overview and cross-curricular links.

Wrap around care is provided on-site for children attending the school, including the on-site nursery and wrap club provisions (Caterpillar Club and Wrap Club).

Admissions Criteria

Oversubscription criteria: Places will be allocated to pupils who have an EHC plan naming the school; when applications exceed places, priority is given in this order: 1) children in public care or previously in public care; 2) pupils living in the linked area; 3) pupils with a brother/sister at the school; 4) other pupils. Tie-breaker: closest distance to the school.
