Welcome to Vernon Terrace. The Headteacher emphasises inclusion, raising aspirations, celebrating diversity, and working holistically with families to remove barriers. The curriculum is broad, balanced and ambitious, with personal, social, health and economic education woven throughout. The school aims to be a non-judgemental, caring community where every child is valued, respected and supported to flourish.
Sports
Breakfast Club: opens at 8am; costs £2 per session (£10 per week); payments must be made a month in advance to reserve the space; once a space is allocated you keep the place for the academic year; applications are made annually (Google form to request a place). After School Club: runs daily from 3:15 PM to 6:00 PM.
Specialist Base for Children Who Are Deaf or Partially Hearing (Sunshine Room) with a Teacher of the Deaf; children may use BSL, SSE or total communication; all have an EHCP. Base for Children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH) providing short-term part-time placements via a county panel; children on temporary placement remain on their home school's roll.
