The school’s SEND provision follows a Graduated Response with excellent targeted classroom teaching, possible small group work or 1:1 support, and interventions. The SENCO is Mr Corser with Assistant SENCO Miss Shorrock. External services such as Speech and Language Therapy, Educational Psychologist, CAMHS, Occupational Therapy, Early Help, and School Nurse may be involved. Progress is reviewed half-termly or termly; pupils on the SEND Register may receive SEN Support or have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Staff training includes interventions like Numicon, Bounce Back Phonics, NELI, ELKLAN. Families are supported and involved through meetings and reviews, including annual reviews for EHCPs where applicable.
We admit children into our Reception classes when their 5th birthday falls between 1st September and 31st August of a particular academic year. The maximum number of children normally admitted to each year group is thirty.
