Head Teacher's Message

A warm welcome to Shadsworth Junior School. The school is described as friendly, happy and hard‑working with a strong sense of family and belonging. It is proud to be a National Flagship School for Inclusion, emphasizes high‑quality teaching, and offers a broad, enriching curriculum. Year 3 to Year 6 are taught in single-age classes with full‑time support staff and two SEND provisions (Forest Room and The Hive). A strong pastoral and wellbeing team supports pupils, alongside breakfast club and after‑school enrichment activities.

The school liaises with outside agencies such as Educational Psychologists and Speech and Language Therapists, and employs a dedicated Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA), Thrive practitioner, and other pastoral staff. The Forest Room (Y3–Y4) and The Hive (Y5–Y6) are specialist nurture provisions overseen by the SENCo. Regular updates are provided to paediatricians when relevant.
