Welcome to Leys Farm Junior School. Our children are at the centre of all we do. We aim to provide a safe, happy, purposeful, creative, friendly and stimulating learning environment in which children can flourish, grow, achieve high standards, gain a sense of independence and begin to realise their potential. We emphasise high standards of behaviour and discipline and value partnership between children, parents, staff and governors to support lifelong skills and prepare children for their next stage in life.

Curriculum Highlights

Based on the National Curriculum with Key Stage 2 (Years 3–6): English; Mathematics; Science; Art & Design; Computing; Design and Technology; Geography; History; Languages; Music; Physical Education Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) is taught to all year groups Curriculum is planned with a two-year cycle in Year 3/4 and in Years 5/6 Curriculum drivers: Knowledge of the World; Creativity; Independence and Resilience; Mental Health and Emotional Awareness A themed, topic approach to enable pupils to make links across learning; visits and technology used to enrich learning Curriculum Long Term Plans available for Cycle A and Cycle B (Year 3–6)

SEND Provision

1:1 time with their class teacher or teaching assistant to talk (Bubble Time); Circle time linked to PSHE, citizenship and Jigsaw; Regular assemblies with a focus on the development of emotional awareness (through the Jigsaw programme); A dedicated Pastoral Manager to support children; Interventions focused on developing emotional awareness and the skills children need to communicate their emotions; A safe, stable and consistent environment to nurture progress and development.
