Admissions Criteria

Admissions are determined by Hertfordshire Local Authority through the issue of an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP). All pupils require an EHCP, though occasionally pupils may be admitted on an assessment basis with the full agreement of the Local Authority and the parents. Lakeside accepts pupils from the age of two, initially on a part-time basis (two days) at age two, rising by one day each year. The Local Authority is the placing authority and it is their decision as to whether a child receives a place at Lakeside. Pupils are placed by the LA and all pupils require an EHCP; there is a banding system for admissions; Lakeside offers welcoming visits; transport policy follows LA guidance; the school does not make placing decisions.
