Head Teacher's Message

A warm welcome from Headteacher A McGarvey. Medina Primary is described as a well-resourced, one-form entry school with about 210 pupils aged 4–11, offering enriching opportunities such as sports clubs, trips and performances, and emphasising a strong partnership with parents and the community.

Curriculum Highlights

Pupils receive a curriculum that promotes curiosity, creativity, independence and the love of learning. Vocabulary is central to all learning. Curriculum develops knowledge, skills and understanding and revisits content to build on prior learning. Curriculum is taught through well-planned topics. Subject leaders design and evaluate the curriculum. Planned trips and residential visits are part of learning. Curriculum promotes equality and diversity and broad cultural experiences. Emotional well-being is supported. Aims for high aspirations and active citizenship.

Wraparound Care

Breakfast Club: Yes

Breakfast Club operates for pupils arriving between 8:00 and 8:10; sign-in takes place in the Art Block; booking is online via ScoPay; cost from 1 September 2025 is £3 per day; cancellations are allowed up to midnight the day before; persistent non-attendance may lead to withdrawal; behaviour expectations apply; for questions, contact the School Office.
