Curriculum Highlights

Three Beech Green Values drive the curriculum: The Arts, Knowledge and Understanding of the World, and Personal Well-Being. The Beech Green Curriculum uses enquiry-led topics and a two-year cycle introduced in 2019 with ‘Another Place and Time.’ Learning is supported by Knowledge Organisers, retrieval practice, and regular low-stakes quizzes to identify gaps and support progress. The curriculum aims to develop Cultural Capital by exposing pupils to local history and geography and varied experiences (e.g., visits to local landmarks and theatre). A philosophy of teaching the core material effectively rather than overwhelming students, with ongoing development of Key Concepts across subjects.
