Christ the King is a Voluntary Aided Catholic Primary School provided by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portsmouth and maintained by Reading Borough. We base our work on the Gospel values of freedom and charity. We teach the Catholic faith through our RE curriculum, masses and through whole school and class worship. Prayer and liturgy are central to the Catholic tradition, with daily acts of worship and pupil-led worship; the school aims to enable children to live their lives to the fullest through faith, worship and Gospel values.
Applications for admission should be made through Reading Borough Council. A supplementary information form (SIF) is not required, though it may be advised for baptised Catholics. In-year admissions are processed internally except Reception and Year 6, which are processed by Reading Borough Council. An open morning for Reception 2026 is on 4 November 2025 at 9:30am. For questions, contact [email protected]. If places are oversubscribed, the published oversubscription criteria in the Admission Arrangements apply, and applicants have the right of appeal to an independent panel.
