Curriculum Highlights

Wraparound Care

Our Opening Hours: School is open from 9am-3.30pm. This is equivalent to 32.5 hours per week. This provides for 380 sessions or 190 school days per academic year. We provide Wraparound care from 8am-6pm. This is run by school staff who know the children.

SEND Provision

Heathwood Lower School provides SEND support through a graduated approach (Wave 1, Wave 2 and Wave 3) with in-class support, small group programmes and additional adult support. The SENDCo is Mr Paul Dicker. The school works with external professionals (e.g. Educational Psychologist, Speech and Language Therapy) and may develop Individual Achievement Plans (IAPs) or EHCP reviews. The school has a specialist Language Provision and Elklan trained staff to support Speech and Language needs. Parents are involved throughout assessment and review processes.
