On Friday afternoon, the school offers a childcare provision for parents who are at work and have no alternative provision. This is booked termly.
Balliol uses Pupil Premium funding to support pupils who may be vulnerable to underachievement; funding is allocated based on the number of children who receive free school meals and can include children whose parents work in the forces or children in care; PP funding is allocated after a needs analysis and is used to support priority groups; not all children receiving free school meals will be in receipt of pupil premium interventions at a given time. Pupil Premium Reports include the Pupil Premium Strategy Statement and Review Statements.
Admissions to Main School are determined by the Local Authority policy in a rank order: looked after children; looked after children from outside England; pupils living in the catchment area with siblings at the school; other pupils living in the catchment area; other siblings; any other children. If there are more applicants than places, a tie-break by distance applies. Pupils with a Statement of Educational Needs or an EHCP named on the statement are admitted even if the school is full, and pupils admitted through the Fair Access Protocol will also be admitted even if the school is full. Admissions to Pre-School and Nursery follow the same criteria with additional notes on timings and part-time options.
