Curriculum Highlights

The National Curriculum applies to all pupils of compulsory school age and is organised on the basis of four key stages: Key Stage 1 (ages 5-7) and Key Stage 2 (ages 7-11) for compulsory schooling; Early Years Foundation Stage for ages 3-5. The National Curriculum covers English, Mathematics, Science, Computing, PE, History, Geography, Art, Music, Design Technology, Modern Languages. For each subject and for each key stage, programmes of study set out what your child should be taught, and attainment targets set out the expected standards of pupils' performance. Curriculum Maps 2024-2025 (KS1, LKS2, UKS2) and Curriculum Maps 2023-2024 are available.

SEND Provision

In April 2011, Pupil Premium funding was introduced. This is “additional funding given to schools to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and to close the gap between them and their peers.” Funds are paid directly to school and the amount received is based on the number of children who receive free school meals. The school has a yearly plan for how to spend Pupil Premium money which focuses on the needs of the children, both academically and socially and emotionally, including contributions to trips, emotional and social support and one-to-one time to set targets with their class teacher.
