Book-based English curriculum with Unlocking Letters and Sounds for phonics Science taught through three enquiries per year with retrieval and exit cards Mathematics progresses with White Rose small steps, including 'my turn', 'your turn', 'our turn' approach and times tables up to 12x12 by end of Year 4 Geography, History and Science units are based around a text; use of entry/exit cards; emphasis on knowledge and vocabulary Reading is central; books used as spine of English; 'reading is breathing in and writing is breathing out'
