Curriculum Highlights

EBacc subjects are available and students can take a mix of GCSEs and Level 2 qualifications. Core subjects (English, Maths, Science) are prioritised; English and Maths receive four lessons per week in Years 10–11; Science operates with five lessons per week in Year 10 and six in Year 11. PSHE education is a key part of the curriculum with a dedicated programme addressing career planning, personal and online safety, Fundamental British Values, healthy lifestyle choices, relationships and sex education, and citizenship. Arts provision is strong, with Artsmark Platinum status and opportunities in Drama, Art, and Music; Duke of Edinburgh Award; Shakespeare School Festival Gold School; SHAPE initiative; and extensive arts activities and collaborations.

Admissions Criteria

Guiseley School is a Foundation School but has adopted Leeds City Council’s admissions policy for entry into Year 7. Applications for entry to Years 8–11 are processed by Guiseley School directly. For Sixth Form admissions, follow the tabs at the side.
