SEND Provision

At The Smith Foundation, we are committed to ensuring that both Pupil Premium and Sports Premium funding are used effectively to support the holistic development of our pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Our strategy is tailored to enhance literacy, numeracy, independence, confidence, and relationships, ensuring all pupils have the tools to achieve positive long-term outcomes.

Admissions Criteria

WHSS welcomes students between the ages of 5-19 years, who have an Education, Health and Care plan (EHC) which makes reference to social, emotional and mental health issues. We offer day and residential placements, and cater for additional complex needs such as ADHD, Autism Spectrum Conditions and specific learning differences. The admission process includes referral, home and school visits, transition planning, and an Admissions Agreement. Fees are paid by the Local Authority, and travel/transport arrangements are made by the Local Authority with consideration of travel distance.

Financial Information

The referring Local Authority is responsible for paying all school fees as defined by the National Contract for placement of students. All provision described within our prospectus, including our therapeutic interventions and residential holidays, are covered by the payment of the fees.
