Head Teacher's Message

Welcome to Lydgate Infant School. We are a happy, inclusive and multilingual school where diversity is valued and celebrated. Learning should be creative, enjoyable and exciting and lay a firm foundation for your child’s future. The school has been highlighted as a national example of good practice in Reading for Pleasure and uses the Little Wandle phonics programme.

SEND Provision

Miss Nicola Leyshon is the SENCo. The school provides quality first teaching with targeted support (in-class, small group, or 1:1 interventions) including nurture provision 'Little Steps'; it collaborates with outside agencies such as Speech and Language Service, MAST, Learning Support and Educational Psychology, with MAST able to provide services outside school.

Admissions Criteria

Admissions are managed by Sheffield City Council. Criteria include Looked After/Previously Looked After pupils, catchment area and siblings, and other applications; admission is handled by Sheffield City Council Primary Admissions.
