Our Lady and St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School is a Catholic school. Religious Education, prayer and liturgy and the Catholic life of the school are integral to all we do. The school has strong links with the parish and its Parish Priest, Fr Patrick, makes regular visits to celebrate Mass and spend time with classes. It is a Voluntary Aided Catholic School with a Catholic Religious Education programme, and aims to live out Gospel values through its life as a Catholic community.
Breakfast Club runs 7:45am–8:30am and After School Club runs 3:15pm–5:45pm. Bookings are via School Gateway. Tax-Free Childcare and Universal Credits are accepted with bookings/payments made one month in advance through the school email.
The school provides SEND support via a graduated response (waves 1–3) with the SENDCo (Gemma Pegg) coordinating provision. It includes involvement with external agencies (e.g., Educational Psychology Service, CAMHS, SALT), termly pupil progress meetings, parent involvement, and access to EHCPs if required. The school tracks progress from Foundation to Year 6 and involves parents and children in reviews. The pastoral team (Pastoral Support Worker/ELSA) supports emotional and social development, with referrals to school counsellor or external services as needed.
As a Catholic school, the Governing Body sets the admissions policy and allocates places based on the policy. The 2025-2026 main school admissions policy is available, and the Local Authority coordinates the admissions process. There is also a Catholic Primary Additional Information Form for applicants. Nursery admissions have separate arrangements; admission to Our Lady and St Joseph’s Primary School does not guarantee admission to the main school.
SCHOOL MEALS ARE £3 PER DAY and £15 per week. This is payable through the SCHOOL GATEWAY. You may qualify for Free school meal entitlements.
