"A family working and growing together to reach our potential."
St. Mark’s Church of England Primary School is a Christian school where prayer and Christian vision shape school life. Our Christian Vision emphasises nurturing every child to become a resilient lifelong learner, each child being created in God’s image with gifts to discover and share. Our Core Christian Values are Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Trust and Understanding.
Headteacher Louise Mansfield expresses pride in the school, describes an inspiring curriculum aimed at active learning and resilience, and notes the aim for children to flourish in a safe, happy environment; emphasises a close, collaborative approach with staff, governors, parents, church and the local community.
Admissions to the school are the responsibility of the governing body. The local authority will manage the admission process. The capacity of the school (including Nursery) is 460 and the school is organised into 15 classes: Nursery, Reception, KS1 (Years 1 & 2), KS2 (Years 3, 4, 5 & 6). The standard admission number (PAN) is 40 for Nursery and 60 for Reception to Year 6. Nursery consists of 20 full-time places, 10 part-time morning places and 10 part-time afternoon places. After applying the criteria and allocating 40 places, full-time/place allocation is made by oldest age first (full-time), then oldest to morning, then youngest to afternoon.
