Admissions Criteria

Senior School Year 7 admissions are highly competitive. About 40% of Year 7 entrants come from BGS Primary Division; around 60% come from other schools; Places are oversubscribed. Applicants must register for the Entrance Examination, which takes place in January, comprising three papers: English, Mathematics and Verbal Reasoning, and will be accompanied by an interview. For Sixth Form, applicants are expected to achieve a minimum of 6 GCSEs at Grade 6 or above, with at least one Grade 7 in a subject they plan to study at A Level; a Grade 7 is particularly required in Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Languages. Bursaries are available for Years 7 and 12; more information on bursaries and scholarships is on the Bursaries & Scholarships pages.
