""Welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you""
St Werburgh’s Catholic Primary School is a Catholic school guided by Gospel values; it follows the Vine and Branches Religious Education programme with the centrality of the Mass; the scheme is rooted in scripture and presents Catholicism as a World Church open to the experience of other religions; sacramental preparation is organised in partnership with the parish priest.
Miss Flynn, Headteacher, welcomes families and describes St Werburgh’s as a faith-filled, highly inclusive community where every child is known, loved and celebrated. The school’s mission is to help all children achieve, belong and thrive, developing confidence, resilience, compassion and a love of learning.
The school uses a graduated SEND approach with four tiers: Tier 1 Universal Offer (Quality First Teaching), Tier 2 Targeted Support, Tier 3 Specialist Support, and Tier 4 High Needs / EHCP; identification is through transition, ongoing monitoring, professional dialogue, and external input; Additional Support Plans (ASP’s) are used, with regular reviews and data-driven evaluation; partnerships with external professionals (e.g. Talk About Town, Orrets Meadow Outreach, Brighter Horizons, ELSA, LEGO Therapy) support provision and home–school collaboration.
