Christ Church CE Primary School is a Church of England school with Christian beliefs at its heart. The school has extremely strong links with the diocese, parish church, local schools and outside agencies, and aims to uphold Christian distinctiveness in development planning. As a Church of England school, it engages meaningfully in a real act of Christian worship every day, teaches Religious Education (5% of school time), and maintains an active relationship with a parish church while welcoming families of all faiths and none.
Headteacher Mrs Tweddle welcomes families to Christ Church CE Primary School, emphasising a welcoming, caring Christian environment, strong partnerships with parents, and pride in the school community. She invites guided tours and highlights the school’s vision, values and ethos of inclusion and spiritual growth.
Christ Church provides an inclusive SEND offer, including an universal provision and a trauma‑responsive approach. It uses a range of targeted interventions (e.g., Lego Therapy, Next Step Cards, Precision Teaching, Socially Speaking, Time to Talk, Social Stories, Sensory Circuit, Friendship Groups, ELSA, Dog Mentor Programme, Wellbeing Check-ins) delivered in small groups or one‑to‑one. The school identifies needs early, may arrange EHCP where appropriate, and collaborates with families and external professionals. It highlights its IQM Centre of Excellence 2025 recognition and describes four areas of need (Cognition & Learning; Communication & Interaction; Physical/Sensory Needs; Social, Emotional & Mental Health) with SEND Local Offer (SENDLO) information.
Nursery admissions are managed by the school, with 15 hours of free nursery provision and a 30 hours offer for eligible working parents. If not eligible for the 15/30 hour entitlement, a top‑up fee of £10 per session applies for full‑time nursery (9:00–3:30). Reception to Year 6 admissions are coordinated by Wirral Local Authority, with allocation based on the school’s Admissions Policy (2026‑27). In‑year transfers have a separate application process. To arrange a guided tour or apply, contact the school office.
Nursery top‑up fee: £10 per session for children not eligible for the 15 hours (full‑time place available 9:00–12:00 or 12:30–15:30).
