Breakfast Club (wrap-around provision) offers before-school care starting at 7:55 am. Breakfast includes toast, fruit and a drink (milk or water) and costs £2 per child, with £1 for additional children from the same family. If a child has dietary needs, staff should be informed beforehand. Bookings must be made in advance via the Riverside Arbor site/app (Arbor app). Spaces are confirmed only when paid; cash payments are no longer accepted. The club operates with various options (weekly or daily) and spaces are limited; if a space cannot be booked, the club may be at capacity. Guidance on hygiene, handwashing and behaviour is provided for safety.
The Willows Inclusion Base is a Local Authority funded inclusion base supporting children with SEMH difficulties. It provides support for children from across the Wirral and operates as a short-term provision (4 terms) with the child remaining dual registered with their mainstream school. The aim is to break down barriers to learning so the child can access education, with strategies including clear adult modelling, emotional literacy, mindfulness, and other support listed in the base’s approach. When ready, the child may return to mainstream classes, with termly reviews and potential long-term provision if needed.
Admission to Foundation 2 (F2) and other classes follows oversubscription guidelines: STEP 1 – if oversubscribed, priority is given to medical reasons related to provision at the school. STEP 2 – applications from within the school’s zone are considered; siblings already registered at the school on the commencement date of entry may gain priority. STEP 3 – if places remain, offers are made to children living nearest to the school, measured by the shortest walking route. Governors have delegated admission decisions to the Head Teacher and a Governors Committee, and admission to Early Years does not guarantee admission to the school. Induction procedures include an initial visit and a first day/starter process with a Welcome Booklet and necessary forms.
