Dean Coombes describes St Matthias as a place of learning where everyone is valued, and expresses the aim to help students enjoy today and to prepare for a successful tomorrow.
All students are valued and included regardless of abilities, needs and behaviours. All students are entitled to a broad, balanced and enriching curriculum which is adapted as appropriate to meet individual needs. All our teachers are teachers of students with special educational needs. All our students can learn and make progress. Effective assessment and provision for children with SEND will be secured in partnership with parent / carers, children, LA and other partners. Maintaining student’s safety and wellbeing is central to their development.
