Head Teacher welcomes visitors and describes Loxdale as a lively, caring community where children and parents are at the heart of all that the school does, inviting families to visit and engage with the school.

Curriculum Highlights

Commando Joe Character Curriculum with seven core values: Respect, Empathy, Self-Awareness, Positivity, Excellence, Communication, Teamwork. VIPERS reading approach (Vocabulary, Inference, Prediction, Explanation, Retrieval and Summary). Read Write Inc phonics program for consistent teaching of phonics. Mastery approach to maths using White Rose Maths Hub Scheme with Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract progression. Outdoor learning and use of the outdoor environment to enhance the curriculum. Residential visits in Year 2 and Key Stage 2; intergenerational and community engagement. Development of cultural capital and emotional resilience through a 7 core values framework. Weekly achievement assemblies celebrating all learners' successes.
