The SEND Department is a team comprising specialist teachers, HLTAs, Learning Support Practitioners, Learning Support Assistants and SENCo. Aims to help pupils access the curriculum, fulfil their potential and become self-motivated independent learners. Responsibilities include early identification and assessment; personalised learning support plans; regular reviews; liaison with external agencies; workshops and resources for parents; collaboration with families to support learning.
Sixth Form admissions are based on an Average Points Score (APS) of 4.5 or above in the five best GCSE subjects. An APS of 4.5-5 directs students to study three Level 3 courses; an APS of 5 or above allows any Level 3 courses with guidance from Senior Leaders/Head of Sixth Form. An APS of 7.5 or above allows four Level 3 courses. Entry into Sixth Form also depends on course-specific entry requirements and a meeting with Senior Leaders to determine suitability. The majority of Level 3 courses have entry requirements. The Admissions page notes Catholic oversubscription priority.
