Headteacher Mr Jon Stevens welcomes visitors and outlines Bromley Hills as a caring, safe environment with a focus on raising standards. He describes a vision of pupils achieving their full potential through an engaging curriculum and lifelong learning, and invites families to visit and download the prospectus.
We offer an on-site Breakfast and After School Club for children attending Bromley Hills Primary School. The clubs are run by our staff and children have access to a wide range of activities during the sessions. Sessions can be booked and paid for online using SchoolMoney. We also accept childcare vouchers and the government's Tax Free Childcare scheme. The clubs are open to families with children in Pre-School to Year 6. Breakfast Club begins at 7.45am with cereals, toast or bagels and a drink; drop-off is available from the start of the session. After Breakfast Club, Years 3–6 walk to their class and Reception–Year 2 are escorted to their classrooms by staff. Breakfast Club cost is £3.50 per session. After School Club operates from the end of the school day until 5.30pm and costs £6.00 per session. Spaces are booked online via SchoolMoney and paid up front; childcare vouchers and the Government's Tax Free Childcare Scheme are also accepted. Special Educational Needs (SEN) at Bromley Hills is supported by dedicated staff and multiple SEN roles. The SENDCo for Year 1–3 is Ms Lees ([email protected]) and for Year 4–6 is Mrs Britton ([email protected]); Pre-School Manager is Miss Powis ([email protected]). The environment is described as stimulating, supportive and well resourced, with additional teaching assistance for pupils with Statements of SEN or EHCPs when required. Interventions include literacy and numeracy supports, Language for Learning and collaboration with speech and language therapists. There is a system to track progress via an electronic database, and external agencies may be involved for EHCP assessments. The school provides guidance on how to raise concerns about SEND via the Complaints Policy and references Dudley’s Local Offer and related SEN policies.
In Dudley, children start primary school the September after their 4th birthday. The law requires all children to start by the beginning of the term after their 5th birthday.
