Ethos & Values

Compassionate & Loving Faith-filled & Hopeful Eloquent & Truthful Learned & Wise Curious & Active Intentional & Prophetic Grateful & Generous Attentive & Discerning

St Osburg's Catholic Primary School is rooted in the Catholic faith. The Gospel values are interwoven through the curriculum and the Catholic ethos permeates the school environment. The school follows the Archdiocese of Birmingham's curriculum strategy 'Learning and Growing as the People of God' for teaching RE. There is a strong Sacramental focus (Year 3: Reconciliation and First Holy Communion; Year 5-6: Confirmation). Close links with feeder school Cardinal Newman. Parish priests Father Sunday and Father Pontius celebrate Mass with us fortnightly. Pupils engage in liturgies, Masses and various prayer experiences. The RSHE and Personal Development curriculum follows Ten Ten 'Life to the Full'. The Church and school collaborate on visits to St Osburg's church, St Chad's Cathedral and Alton Castle; Chaplaincy Team helps support faith life.
