Curriculum Highlights

English Curriculum includes Grammar and Punctuation, Reading, Writing, Spelling; synthetic phonics (Floppy’s Phonics); reading schemes (Oxford Reading Tree) for different key stages. Maths Curriculum aims to develop fluency with numbers and mathematical reasoning and to help children solve problems. Science Curriculum emphasises hands-on learning, scientific enquiry and cross-curricular links with focus on vocabulary and high aspirations. Reading at Allesley emphasises reading for pleasure and a strong reading culture; Phonics and reading schemes are used across key stages. Curriculum information is supported by Curriculum Planners and subject resources (e.g., Maths calculation policy, English writing, Spelling, Science Subject Planner). The school emphasizes a broad, balanced curriculum that develops curiosity, independence and community awareness.

Wraparound Care

Allesley Bluebirds is a school run scheme which offers before and after school care and education in a safe, familiar environment to children aged 3 – 11 years. We also run the lunchtime provision for nursery children who attend full day sessions. Before school session 7:45am – 8:30am offers breakfast with toast/cereal and a drink. After school session 3:00 – 6:00 includes a small group independent snack time with bakery products, fruit and a drink. Current prices: Nursery up to Year 6 Before school 7.45am – 9am £5.00 per session; After school 3.00 – 6pm £9.00 per session. SEND Provision

Fully inclusive mainstream with SEND provision. SEND Coordinator: Mrs M Toller. The school provides information via its SEND resources and SEN Information Report and aims to support all pupils including those with SEN.

Allesley Primary School adopts the Coventry City Council Primary Admissions policy.

Financial Information

Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a school meal free of charge. The cost of a school meal for Nursery, Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 is £2.50 per meal.
