Hello and welcome to Severne Primary School. I am Mrs McMahon, Headteacher since September 2022. Severne is at the heart of our community with a caring staff committed to meeting each child’s individual, academic and emotional needs. Our curriculum is broad, balanced and enriched, focused on developing the knowledge, skills and understanding to prepare children as happy, successful citizens. Our values are Respect, Succeed and Celebrate.

Curriculum Highlights

The curriculum at Severne Primary School is rooted in the belief that every child has the right to succeed. Values of Respect, Succeed and Celebrate are used to shape a bespoke yet ambitious curriculum. Following the National Curriculum while considering the needs and interests of pupils and the wider community. A focus on teaching the fundamentals of reading, writing and mathematics every day to ensure basic skills for learning and life. Curriculum includes learning experiences that extend beyond the classroom and promote questioning and exploration. A culture of teamwork and collaboration to create lifelong learners.

Based on Birmingham City Council's Admissions Scheme guidance; Coordinated admissions for 2027-2028.

Financial Information

Dinner prices (as of 1 April 2023): Nursery - day £2.35; Reception to Year 2 - Universal Free School Meals; Year 3 to Year 6 - £2.65 per day (£13.25 per week). Dinner money should be brought in on the first day of the week. Free School Meals eligibility follows government criteria; Universal Infant Free School Meals for Rec, Year 1 and Year 2. Magic Breakfast provides breakfast bagels before school (8:30 AM).
