Latin is taught in all year groups. Children are mostly taught in mixed ability classes. Maths lessons in all years are taught in target groups when possible. The Curriculum Intent states that the Birmingham Curriculum Statement is used; topics are integrated and linked across half-term periods, with emphasis on developing vocabulary and citizenship values through a four-year CUSP model (Curriculum with Universal Support for Progress). Please read our curriculum intent for more details. The school offers a four-year programme based on the CUSP model to provide a comprehensive and balanced education in line with the National Curriculum, with subjects integrated across each half term and a focus on vocabulary development and citizenship.

Admissions Criteria

Birmingham Local Authority handles admissions from Year 2 into the Juniors and from Year 6 into Secondary School. All other ‘in year’ admissions will be handled by the School. There is pressure for places at Hall Green Junior School; there is a waiting list for each Year Group. Priority is given to children with EHC Plans or Looked After Children (parents can name a school as part of the plan, done through SENAR or the LAC team), siblings of children already in school (includes Hall Green Infant School), families living in the catchment area, and distance from school. School has four forms of entry in each year group (120 places). Birmingham Admissions details: www.birmingham.gov.uk/schooladmissions or 0121 675 0555.
