Curriculum Highlights

Computing is integrated across all curriculum areas with a specialist KS1 lesson; three strands are Digital Citizenship, Content Creation, and Coding. Digital Citizenship covers online safety, privacy, respectful use of technology; supported by Common Sense Education and ThinkUKnow. Content Creation uses Purple Mash, Microsoft Word, and Book Creator to type, format text, insert images, and create multimedia projects. Coding begins with Bee-Bots and Blue-Bots, advancing to Espresso Coding to create interactive stories, animations and simple games. French is taught in Key Stage 1 by a native specialist teacher; 30 minutes per week; Reception topics include greetings, colours, numbers, animals, food and drinks; Year 1 and 2 cover body parts, hobbies and telling the time. Learning Enrichment supports pupils with a multiagency approach (working with educational psychologists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other professionals). Assessment is used to monitor progress; 7+ Examinations are part of the process; emphasis on well-being and holistic development. Squirrels Exploration Society (S.E.S.) provides outdoor learning sessions and aims to develop confidence, resilience, creativity, and self-awareness. Heart values and house system are integral to school life (HEART: Honesty, Effort, Ambition, Respect, Teamwork). Houses named Kingsmere, Bluegate, Queensmere and Ravine; house points and a House Cup.

Wraparound Care

After-School Care: Yes

On-site wraparound care is available; Squirrels Club runs Monday to Thursday until 5pm; After School Clubs run until 4:30pm; Pupils can be on site from 7:45am to 5pm.

Admissions Criteria

Admissions are academically selective. The entry process for Reception is described as friendly and nursery-style, with Getting to Know You sessions to assess language, social, numerical and creative skills. Registrations are accepted from birth, with occasional places available in all year groups. All pupils entering WCPS will be preparing for 7+ assessments and future schools; the school emphasises helping families find the best match for their child.

Financial Information

2025-2026 Fees: Per Term £7,521 (including VAT); Per Annum £22,564. An Acceptance Deposit of £2,500 is payable on acceptance of a place. Registration Fee £240. Fees are payable in advance by direct debit. A term's notice is required for withdrawal. The school does not accept Childcare Vouchers.
