Curriculum Highlights

From Year 1 to Year 6, the school follows the National Curriculum. The curriculum in the Early Years is focused on self-directed learning using the Development Matters document. Infant classes have daily phonics lessons with Read Write Inc; some junior pupils continue phonics as needed. Physical education, science, music and religious education are taught discreetly; humanities and arts are taught through 'topic' lessons based on termly themes. Class teachers share curriculum outlines every half term and adapt plans to reflect pupil needs.

Wraparound Care

Breakfast Club: Yes After-School Care: Yes

Breakfast club opens at 7:45 am and Aftercare runs until 5:45 pm. Sessions in both clubs for school pupils can be booked through the school office.

SEND Provision

The school provides SEND support with an Inclusion Coordinator (Mrs C Lee) who works with staff, parents, governors, the local authority and external professionals. Pupils with additional needs may receive targeted interventions; SEN Information Report is provided on the site.

Admissions Criteria

Our admissions criteria from 2023 onwards are the same as most local schools: Looked after Children have the highest priority, with all other places allocated by distance. We have 'open' places and you do not need to be a churchgoer to attend. The governors set the admissions criteria which operate in the event of over-subscription; Looked After Children and distance are the main factors.
