St Anselm’s is a Catholic school with gospel values at the centre; the Mission Statement is Learning and growing together through prayer, belief and love and the school describes itself as a Christ-centred community with Jesus’ teachings and values at the core of the curriculum; Mass is celebrated by the whole school with weekly Gospel and achievement assemblies led by the senior leadership team; the Catholic life is enriched by links with the parish of Our Lady & St Thomas of Canterbury and a pupil GIFT Team helps promote spiritual and moral development; prayer and worship are essential parts of school life.
Headteacher Ms Tania Hunt describes a Christ-centred school with gospel values at the heart of all we do, a Mission Statement about learning and growing through prayer, belief and love, high academic standards, strong community links, and welcomes visits from the local community.
Clubs
St Anselm’s serves the parish of Our Lady and St Thomas of Canterbury. 60 pupils are admitted to Reception each year (the published admission number). Applications often exceed places. Applicants must complete the Local Authority CAF and a Supplementary Information Form, plus the Certificate of Catholic Practice from the Parish Priest. The CAF allows nominating up to six schools. Only one CAF should be submitted by the deadline. The Governing Body considers all applications under the Admissions Policy and Oversubscription Criteria.
