Channing is a happy, purposeful place of intellectual enquiry and personal discovery for girls aged 4 to 18, underpinned by Unitarian values of free thinking, acceptance and inclusivity and the Channing Promise of kindness and respect. The school aims to develop each girl’s strengths and mitigate weaknesses, guiding them to success in their own terms.

The school provides tailored support for pupils with additional learning needs through a dedicated Learning Support team, English as an Additional Language (EAL) support, and appropriate access arrangements to ensure pupils can access the full curriculum.
Main entry points are 4+ (Reception) for the Junior School, 11+ for the Senior School, and 16+ for the Sixth Form. External Year 7 places are available with a competitive selection process. The 11+ admissions process includes a confidential school reference from the current Headteacher, a London 11+ Consortium online assessment (100 minutes) with adaptive and non-adaptive sections, SEN/access arrangements, and an interview. The 16+ process includes an interview with the Headmistress and Head of Sixth Form, GCSE predictions and a school reference; scholarships and bursaries are available.
From 1 September 2025: Junior School £7,865 per term; Senior School £8,795 per term. Fees are listed without VAT; as of 1 January 2025 independent school fees are subject to VAT at 20%. Tuition fees include most books, stationery and basic craft materials. Personal books/equipment may be charged as ‘extras’; public examination entry fees are not included. A non-refundable deposit of £5,000 (£7,000 for Sixth Form) is payable on acceptance. All fees are due in advance on or before the first day of term. A full term’s notice is required for withdrawal. Extra charges include Music tuition (£410–£470 + VAT per term) and LAMDA lessons (£225 + VAT per term).
