Forestdale promotes British Values and follows the Croydon Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education. Each year group learns about the 6 major faiths each year. The school has strong links with local religious communities, including St Mary’s Church, Croydon Methodist Church and Buddhapadipa temple. The core of the curriculum is based on the National Curriculum. Early Reading is taught through Essential Letters and Sounds. Forestdale offers a range of SEND provisions including quality first teaching tailored to each child, targeted group and individual support, in-class additional support by teachers and teaching assistants, and regular 1:1 reading and phonics support. The school provides Nessy (computer-based reading), precision teaching, fine motor skills development, nurture group, social-emotional development sessions with the Learning Mentor, and oracy – with Speech and Language Therapy, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy available through external partnerships. External agencies include Educational Psychology Service, Primary Behaviour Support Team, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, SENDIAS, and Croydon Local Offer. The SENCo coordinates provision, updates the SEN register, and leads transition planning and parent involvement.

Forestdale is a two-form entry mixed primary school in Croydon and is a local authority maintained school. Admissions are managed by the Croydon School Admissions Team.
