"Inspire, Learn, Be Proud"
Head Teacher Petra Wigzell welcomes families and describes the motto Inspire, Learn, Be Proud. She emphasises a warm, nurturing environment that supports progression from each child’s starting point and invites visitors to see learning in action and become part of the Winterbourne Family.
Winterbourne provides an inclusive SEND provision with a universal approach and targeted support. This includes visual timetables, pictorial and concrete resources, movement breaks and reduced language in class as needed. SEND support plans are individualized and reviewed every 6 weeks by the SENDCo and class teachers. Specialist provisions include Little Stars for children with social communication difficulties or moderate learning difficulties, Cosmic Crew for social, emotional and mental health needs, and Little Rockets to accelerate progress for KS1 learners. Staff are trained to accommodate sensory differences and provide regular movement breaks and sensory routines as part of the provision.
